(Onosma echoides)
Ratajot is a rich wine coloured powder that looks like orcanette (though somewhat darker). It is extracted from the root of a plant that grows in Northern India.Often used in asian cuisine, it is also used as a colourant for cold process soaps. The colour may vary with the PH. Soak the powder in oil (59% oil and 41% powder) It can also be macerated in glycerine or in water (50% to 50%) to coulour lotions and creams. External use only
